Large corporations would have you believe that its better to outsource everything you don't do. In other words, our company makes widgets and we hire this other company to do the book keeping because we know nothing about it. Good luck getting two completely different companies to buy into each other.

[...] Where I am going with all this, is that we need to recognize a trick. I find it rather repulsive these days, to forget pondering the questions of is it real, is it fake, am I confortable with the intentions of a production? It is very discouraging to my heart if someone skips ahead to, “It doesn’t matter, no one can tell the difference.” Another reckless approach, “Let’s just do like what they did, it seems like a good model to follow.” via designiscasual.com [...]

Authenticity happens to be a subject I obsess about. Even developed a theory of authenticity (partially) and wrote a few papers about it. Here's one:

http://issuu.com/PracticalPedal/docs/paradox_of_authenticity

And a novel about it:

http://issuu.com/PracticalPedal/docs/finding_fordlandia

The gist of my thoughts is that the very idea of authenticity is a trick and we should be wary if it is even mentioned. I see it as an attempt to fabricate meaning in a world where decisions have become arbitrary due to technological advances. So authenticity is an attempt to recast arbitrary decisions as necessary.

The Work is delightful. I am particularly fond of the change up of the lines that create a feel of a brush being dragged over the work. The others that show the delicacy of the line enforce the overall view. Nicely done.

I get these errors:

1017: The definition of base class BasicView was not found.
5000: The class 'ExampleTransformationRotate' must subclass 'flash.display.MovieClip' since it is linked to a library symbol of that type.

How come it works for some people and for some it doesn't?

I reverted from CS4 to CS3 for this...
